Katrina Luna Military Intervention Conclusion: Military intervention should not be part of the US Foreign Policy. Premises: -The adverse effects on those being given aid outweigh the positive effects. -Millions of dollars are being spent with nothing to show for, no beneficial end results. -The US citizens do not reap any direct benefits. -The military becomes more of an imposition, than an intervention. Opposing Arguments: -The people in need of help tend to be suppressed and cannot easily ask for help or have the means to reach out for aid. Response: -This argument is valid, yet the majority do not seek help because it leads to riots, innocent deaths, and destruction of land and homes. Also, even with the aid of the military intervening, there has yet to be successful results.
Kevin Roa humanitarian aid Argument: should humanitarian aid be involved in foreign affairs? premises: 1. i think we have a obligation to help or aid people in need of it without damaging ourselves 2. by helping them we are promoting and strengthening ourselves using soft power this gives us a good reputation. 3. by helping we are influenceing the rest of the countries into doing the same which is strategically valuable 4. by helping with humanitarian projects we also benefit ourselves, this helps us strengthen our bonds and relationships with other countries .
main argument: it takes alot of money to help other countries out, should we really go out of our way to help another country or only think of ourselves? we must make sure we are safe and out of danger especialy wen we are aiding a country in war their maybe rebel who want to get back or even just the soldiers and we may be in danger. another major concern is who and where we are aid some places are very difficult to aid depending on their location some places have no roads to bring shipments over or have rebels who over take the shipments as soon as they are dropped to their destination
conclusion: A: We should/ should not actively pursue humanitarian aid. B: The best way for us to pursue thi is: -be absolutely sure that the decision process is free from domestic political consideration as much as possible. -done with care to avoid worsening the situation in the affected country -done with consultation with existing groups in the affected countries -to get a sense of what the situation really is in the ground.
